More hard work. Dehydrating celery. Blanch each batch x 30 seconds. Then dunk in cold water. Have 8 trays full. I’m all dunk in. Another hot one today. Should be getting lots of solar power for the dehydrator if not for AC.Day 14 #augustbreak2022Day 13 #augustbreak2022. It’s past 6 O’CLOCK but still early and cool enough to sit, have another cuppa and enjoy my thick, thick book. I’m on page 593 of 742 of Tom Wolfe’s A Manon Full. I love the early morning light.Day 12 #augustbreak2022Celery and kale got haircuts. It’s a case of too much of a good thing. Got another bed of celery to trim another day. Trimmings washed on rack. Kale hanging in basement to dry. Celery will need to be blanched before drying in dehydrator maybe tomorrow.Day 11 #augustbreak2022Day 10 #augustbreak2022It has risen, flatten and risen again. Now I’m about to flatten it again into loaves so they can rise again.Stir fry of bitter melon and Chinese mustard greens. I do love bitter.Day 9 #augustbreak2022Instagram

INVITATION TO CHANGE
I’m suffering somewhat with this locked/shut down. Sometimes I feel as if I’m suffocating and can’t catch my breath. These times come with some tiny memories that drift in uninvited and unannouced of times before, of people lost and forever … Continue reading

LIFE IS HARD – JUST DO IT
When the spirit doesn’t move me, I have to work hard at everything. I worked hard to get here, in the chair, in front of the keyboard and onto the page. I feel ravaged by inertia and sleeping sickness. I … Continue reading

WEEKENDS AND PROCRASTINATION
It’s the weekend again. I am enjoying the slow ambience, sipping my morning tea, tapping away at the keyboard. I am trying to get over my inertia and get that creative juice flowing again. Once upon a time, I could … Continue reading

THINGS I LEARN FROM REPOTTING MY CHRISTMAS CACTUS
The thing that I want to get out is that while I may have a green thumb (largely due to luck), I’m not a plant nor garden expert. You can plainly see that if you ever saw my Christmas cactus. … Continue reading
THINKING WARM
Just because it is a new month and you are filled with resolve, it doesn’t mean you are going to win over inertia and sloth. I do try but I let go some of my routine this morning. Let’s see … Continue reading
REMEMBERING JESSIE
Perhaps it is just in the day. It is cloudy and drizzly. Now I have the time I crave, time that I have been wishing for, to do so many things. But I can’t seem to move forward, cannot find … Continue reading
