About

Hello world!  This is me, an ordinary Asian woman who is fascinated with words and ideas.  I hope to capture my words, ideas and dreams here instead of letting them float around in my head and eventually getting lost in the space within.  My goal is to capture one thousand words daily, hence the title of the blog.  I had to settle for One thousand and two since one thousand and one thousand and one were already taken.  Seems like others have similar ideas.  Being ordinary and down to earth, I know that it will be a task to come up with one thousand words a day.  It will be a work in progress…one word at a time…one day at a time…

  1. You are a beautiful Chinese woman!!!! I love many, many things Chinese, their various philosopies, artistry, much of their recipes. Steady and practical is good, at least you are “centered”. You want to express, and that is wonderful!!!! Your Chineseness is part of your beauty that I admire and love because you are symbolic of centuries of Chinese history!!!!! Thank you for your sharing, I appreciate it!!!!

This is a fabulous idea! Writing 1,002 words a day! Must be quite a feat 😀
Good luck and thank you for allowing others to read along.

Thanks for reading! I fall quite far from 1002 words/day. Too ambitious perhaps but still trying. 🙂
      Maybe I could do 1002 posts/year.

I never, ever thought to count my words. Truth is…I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem. My husband and daughter can attest to the fact that I’m pretty wordy. Some might call it…long-winded. My loved ones…love me…so they’d never call me that…to my face. 🙂

  5. Hi Lily, I found you on the facebook Ultimate Challenge Blogging event. I’m on wordpress, too. 1000 words a day, wow! Best wishes and see you in the blogosphere 🙂

Hello Lily! I’ve decided to read and follow 15 interesting and new blogs a day every day for the first month of 2015, and yours is today’s #6! Feel free to come visit me when you can at http://www.thatssojacob.wordpress.com, and follow if you like what you read. Happy new year and happy blogging!

  7. Hi Lily – I probably hit 1000 words a day in my journal, but that’s not for public consumption – more like dumping all the things out of my head that might stand in the way of my having a decent day. Even I don’t want to hear me whine, yet it works.
1,000 words daily that will bring some value to otters – much more of a challenge. Good luck! Jeanne

I have yet to hit a 1000 words/day though I still aspire to! I used to journal a lot but I found that I get too self-absorbed. The thing not to do is to read them after but I have and do. And it all sounds BAD! like I have no life. 😄 so I gave that up! Sounds like our climate are similar- cold and snow. I have given in to my cravings and enjoying a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies. Thanks for your visit!

      Lily

      • That is the trick, Lily. NEVER go back and read them! If I were having an inspired idea, it would be written in my sketchbook or another idea book I keep. Journals are different from memoirs, too. They really are – to me, anyway – a way of clearing my head of the junk that’s zipping around, something catharctic.
I was out today and gave in to a (vegan) espresso chip cookie. Why not?
Stay warm – 6˚ below here tonight.

One word at a time, one day at a time. Couldn’t have said it better myself! Good luck! You’ve got my support 🙂
