My daily draw/watercolour. Day 98 of #the100dayproject . Irises. When sleep escapes you, you paint. You don’t get the best results but it is an effort. Flowers are not my favourite and I was sloppy with the background. My daily draw/watercolour. Day 97 of #the100dayproject. Team Martha and Lia. I hope they approve. Somehow I’ve made Lia look like a teenager. She grew up fast! Sometimes I have no control of the outcome.Baking bread. Of comfort and joy on a cool rainy and snowy day. The snow was short lived. I ate 2 slices. My daily draw/watercolour. Day 96 of #the100dayproject. Reading - from a photo I saw and love of a FB page. I adore these 2 friends and the story they are telling. My daily draw/watercolour. Day 95 of #the100dayproject. My Valentine’s bouquet is long past due. Now that I’ve captured it, I can let it go. As you can see, my table is in its usual mess.A memory of Sheba checking out squirrels up the tree. She left us 2 years ago yesterday. Our very last squash from fall harvest. A Sweet Mama. Will be part of soup for lunch. I will add radish greens from the greenhouse to the mix. A cool morning. We had a bit of rain overnight. There’s forecast of minus night temps later in the week. I wonder what kind of summer we will have this year.My daily draw/watercolour. Day 94 of #the100dayproject Trying something outside my usual. I love flowers but not fond of painting them because they are not easy.Caught the culprit - scarlet lily beetle snacking on my plant. I did away with it. I hear they can eat up all your lilies. Good thing they don’t care for day lilies.Tulips in bloom.Instagram

THE BEST OF EACH DAY
These last days of 2020 seem the hardest. It’s a good reason to return to the keyboard – to put words onto the page instead of getting lost in my emotions. Be here. Be now. I try not to give … Continue reading

IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR
It is the day before Christmas and not a preparation have I made. Perhaps this year I have stripped off all vistage of the holy season. I am bare naked, without pretense. Aren’t we all this year? Is it such … Continue reading

LOST IN SPACE
I think I am uncomfortable with the emptiness of spaciousness. Hence all my clutter. It’s not that I am a hoarder. It’s not that my house is jammed full of stuff. I have pockets of stuff here and there. My … Continue reading

HIBERNATION AND HOMECOMING
We are getting into the heart of December. The nights are longer and darker. I slept in to almost 8 am. My blackout curtains and all the fresh air from cross country skiing are helping, too. The sun is out, … Continue reading

IF WISHES WERE HORSES
The prompt today for Susannah Conway’s December Reflections is: on my wish list. It caused me pause for reflection. Have I ever wished for anything? None that I can remember for eons and eons. Oh yes, There was a time … Continue reading
