IN MY DREAMS

It’s Friday and time for fiction of 100 words, hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

I’m a dream girl but not much into fantasy, but I thought it’s time I spread my wings and fly a little.  Everything is possible.

In my dreams, I soared high above the clouds.  I touched the wings of the silver bird.  I saw the ocean below me.  I felt the air and magic around me.  Higher and higher I flew.

I heard God whispered in my ears.  “You are the child of my universe.  Take care of it for me”

Darkness came.  The stars twinkled merrily.  I reached out and caressed Mr. Moon’s face. He smiled back at me.  Tired, I climbed into his welcoming arms, laid my head against his shoulder and slept.

I woke and the sun shone in my eyes.

About hafong

Hello! My name is (Leung) Hafong alias Lily Leung. You always say the last name first….that is the Chinese way. That is my partner lurking behind me. Since this is my blog, I won’t mention his name. But this is a rather cool picture. You see me and yet you don’t…sort of the way I feel about myself most of my life. So this blog is a self-exploration, an archeology dig of some sort. My tools…..words of a thousand or so at a sitting. I will try for that.

Great post. Sorry about the late comment. I had a family emergency.

  2. What a nice dream. I wonder if she took didn’t the Sisyphean task into the daylight to much.. More need to have that dream

  3. Dear Lily,

Lovely dream. But may I offer some suggestions?

There seems to be some tense confusion…ie past tense and present tense. More immediate would be, “God whispered in my ears…” “caressed” rather than “caress” and “the sun shone in my eyes”.

Your decision. I enjoyed the story.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Thanks for pointing it out, Rochelle. I do have that problem. My partner’s been after me for that for awhile. Sometimes I slip. I will do an edit. 🙂

  6. Lily, Lovely piece. We should all heed the advice to take care of the universe, at least that part that’s in our power to care for. Well written. 🙂 —Susan

This sounds pretty dreamy to me, so long as the sun isn’t too close! Sometimes, we got to reach out the Universe. Great flying, Lily.

  9. Sun says:

a dreamy and lovely story, Lily…love the line about caressing the moon’s face. sometimes we just have to let go and let our imagination run free. 🙂

  10. Lovely gentle piece of dreamery. I’d like to experience something like that.

I liked the flow of this, Lucy. What a sweet a peaceful scene you created. You could expand it and make a children’s book.
